REPRESENTATIVE JERAMEY ANDERSON RECEIVES MAE ENDORSEMENT FOR US CONGRESS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 10, 2018

JACKSON, Miss -- Mississippi Association of Educators (MAE) announced yesterday their endorsements for the 2018 midterm election. MAE’s PAC, comprised of MAE members, has decided overwhelmingly to endorse Representative Jeramey Anderson for Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District. The rigorous, non-partisan endorsement is a multi-step process according to MAE. Congressional candidates from both parties were first asked to submit responses to a policy questionnaire, and then asked to participate in an interview with members of our PAC.

It is a great honor to receive the endorsement of the Mississippi Association of Educators. Public education is the backbone of success in our country and our state. Representative Anderson is committed to protecting the institution of public education, ensuring access to resources and funding, and working with administrators, teachers, and students to develop curriculum that works for the individual classroom. He has always fought to protect public education during his time in the Legislature and will continue to be a strong voice and advocate in Washington.

“This is an incredibly important election,” said MAE President Joyce Helmick. “When we cast our ballots next month, we plan to show Mississippi’s current leadership that it’s time they move aside for candidates who will prioritize public education and public educators.”

The Mississippi Association of Educators is composed of Mississippi’s elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty and staff, educational support professionals, retired educators, and college students preparing to become educators. MAE is the oldest and most powerful education association in the state.
